Orford Bandstand Reconstruction

The Bandstand was built on a substandard foundation (one rock at each post location), and with untreated floor and post framing material. As a result,  after 4 years the floor decayed and the building began to sink. The finished floor was removed, exposing the rotted members and the post trim was loosened to show that the post framing was beginning to decay.

Bids to rebuild the bandstand will include the cost for:

  • Removing the existing floors and electric
  • Suspending or removing the roof
  • Removing the wind braces, railings and posts
  • Prepare the site for an Alaskan Slab with appropriate edge thickness and rebar spacing
  • Pour and trowel finish the concrete
  • Rebuild post to original appearance using pressure treated framing material and PVC trim
  • Re-install the wind braces and railings
  • Reconnect the front steps
  • Re-route the electricity
  • Reclaim the site

All bids will must be submitted with Proof of Liability insurance, the licensed electrician you will use, and a guaranteed timeline for completed work.

Heritage Center building exterior painting

The Town of Orford is accepting estimates to repaint the Orford Heritage Center, located at 2546 Route 25A, Orford, NH.

The estimate should include the preparation of the exterior of the building to remove loose paint, debris, and dirt prior to painting. Painting four sides of the building with white latex exterior paint. The window trim will be painted with a latex exterior paint to match as close as possible to the current paint color.

The building may be viewed anytime without notice to gain information for estimation needs. The 2-story building is approximately 40’ by 50’
